Hi there,
Is there any way to see whether a route includes a toll road on the Nuvi (765t)?

I don't really wait to totally avoid toll roads as I often go over the M4 toll bridge, but I want to be able to tell if there is a toll on route.

I don't mind if it is on the unit or on MapSource, but preferably both!

G

I can't see a way... Even scrolling through the route before hand doesn't warn you. Looks like it's avoid or nothing with Garmin.

In MapSource, you can plot your route without toll road avoidances (edit..preferences..routing). Then switch the toll avoidances on, R click the route and select Recalculate Route.

You can't identify the tolled section, but you CAN see if there is a difference in the route.

I believe some units give you a cost for the journey - is yours one? If so might that show it?

Here I go again, sticking my nose into something I know nothing about but hopefully shedding some light in doing so. Apologies if I'm getting it wrong.

I assume that MapSource is a computer based program which, from previous responses, looks like it doesn't do as you would like.

From the "Free POI's & More" link above you can download the locations of toll roads (under "UK" - "Transport") as a POI file and import them into a program other than MapSource such as "Tyre", "PoiEdit" or "PoiEditor" where you can edit your route around the tolls as you so wish.

I recently submitted POI locations of about 150 European Motorway tolls which have not made it onto the PGPSW database as yet. If your trip is imminent and European, PM me and I can e-mail you the file if it would help.

Once again, I hope this is of some use. AliOnHols.

Are there really only 35 toll roads in the UK?

Many thanks for this. I don't know how well it will work (as you normally have to zoom in stupidly close to view POIs) but it is far more than I have at the moment.

Thank you

Probably, but If you are aware of others, submit them and improve the system.

Fairly certain that the programs I suggested will let you see the POI's from as far away as the moon or even further if you wish. But then it just gets to look like one big BLOB!

Happy to have helped and got a solution. AliOnHols.
