I note that it supports resume of navigation from a call. No mention of custom PoI support though... |

Well I have it downloading but the purchase was a little strange.
I had previously bought this and due to the silly 8003 error message I was given a full refund of the purchase price, tonight I clicked the purchase option and I was shown this:
(Honest I pressed the Cancel Button - NOT)
Following a full download of the 1,81GB files and the time taken to install the application and maps I still haven't had any e-mail confirming a purchase from iTunes (They are usually very quick) - Could this be a freebe or yet another colossal cock-up with the release of this application?
If its a freebie then thankyou very much, its first real long distance run will be on Wednesday when I head from Blackpool to Ashford - London and back home - Mike |

looks like some sort of technical clerical error due to your refund processing ! Either way im sure there not botherd about giving freebies to a few people who originally bought it and had to wait for a refund from apple.
Ps. my apple recipts usualy arent instant there more like a day or so later! |

Glad to see its downloading at least! My Apple reciepts don't come through for around 48 hours either. If as you're getting MIke, its thinking its an update as you already purchased, you don't get a receipt. Did you get one from your original try with the 8003 error?
Either way, hope to see a review before I buy. Is Darren up late?
Cheers, Mike |

I did get a receipt when I bought it the first time, I also have e-mails and credit note etc from Apple when it all went wrong, this time its downloaded and installed and its working, still no e-mail I am just going out to have a play around with the application in the car for the first time.
Darren might be having breakfast by the pool as its holiday time so whether its a late start or not it doesn't matter as here is little internet access where he is from what he mentioned the other day.
As for it being a TT killer application, this isn't something that you can make a decision on unless you have used both applications, as TT have still not released their application its too early to make that sort of call - Mike |

As I said last night its first decent outing will be on Wednesday/ Thursday when it gets a good 750+ mile run, only then will I have an idea as to what its like, having just had 15 minutes in the car so far its not bad although the poor speaker in the iPhone makes it difficult to hear unless I use the BT Audio link to me car.
Re-routing calculations are fast and the user interface is intuative makng it nice and easy to use, I will post up some notes on Thursday but if anyones got any specific questions please feel free to ask - BTW the GPS reception seems better than when running Navigon - I know thats bizarre as its the same iPhone, but it seems happy to run this whereas it stuggles to get a position lock with the other application - Mike |

Well you can put PR41AX in and it works, but if you were to enter something with 3 numbers in the middle it won't let you from what I have tried so far, the software goes straight to Letters after you enter two mumbers.

10 seconds to the nagging screen followed by about one second after you press the agree button before you see the map.
Badgerman26 wrote: | What is the sat lock time? |
First time I used it this morning it took around 10 seconds after displaying the map to it acquiring a position fix, second time I switched it on it had a GPS position fix as soon as the application had started up.

Through the iO-Play kit in the car very good, using the built in speaker not too clever, but we all know the built in speaker isn't very good to start with and its no fault of Sygic.
Badgerman26 wrote: | can u change their volumes independantly? |
No you can only adjust the volume and both music and nav instructions are adjusted at the same time.
Badgerman26 wrote: | Can u add speed cams? |
The application supports the ability to warn when near a POI, but as yet there is no way to install custom POI files to the device other than manually adding them one at a time. There is an option to enable warnings for "Radars" which you can customise from the list of built in warnings, not tried driving with this enabled yet so after the F1 has finished a quick trip along the prom in Blackpool will soon see how good the warnings are!
Badgerman26 wrote: | Change cam warnings? |
You can select the sound used for POI warnings but again its only a choice from the built in sounds
Badgerman26 wrote: | What are the voices like? |
There is just a single Male voice available for English UK, its clear enough to understand while driving and the voice does read out road numbers as part of the navigation.
There are loads of different options to configure in this application, in fact setting it up is going to take a while as you can set warnings for railway crossings, if you are over the speed limit - real nice touch is the ability to specify by how many miles per hour above or below the speed limit you want the warning to trigger, there is plenty more to play around with. It looks to be a very well thought out application - Mike |

Indeed using the space gives you the ability to add the third numeric to be entered - Cheers for that - Mike |
