Hi again,

i've found the slider - it's fully on.

it did originally work when i first loaded the software, but i just can't find how to get this working again. i even switched off and back on again!

Mike,

Excellent review and writeup, especially when it is your first.

I have a few questions regarding this product (Sorry if the info is already mentioned before)

1) Is the reality view available only when you're having an actual navigation or also when you do a demo navigation?
2) Is it possilble to examine the route instruction, do a reroute, block a specific road it recommended due to known traffic condition, etc?
3) Does it warn users of you overspeed both visually and by sound?
4) Can you select which POI to show/hide?
5) Can you choose which approxing POI gets warning on?
6) Can you specify cross roads?
7) Can you specific how much overspeeding tolerance before you're warned of overspeeding?
8) Do you know if this company intends to release maps outside Europe? Australia is my specific interest.

Just a quick Heads-Up that the intro price offer ends today.

Personally I'd hold off and see what the others offer, Navigon is OK but very basic and there will be better solutions available.

I thought that it was a somewhat generous review based on all written so far, but I don't find Mr. Fry terribly accurate on these things.

I wasn't happy with the volume on Navigon through the iphone speaker so I had a play around this lunchtime to see if I could get it louder. Seems if you go into ipod and set the volume to full in there while playing a song through the speakers, then the Navigon speech is much louder when you use that.

Maybe Angelfish has the volume right down in ipod mode? I just tried that and Navigon is silent then, even with the volume slider in navigon on full.

That this is a good solution to motorbike sat nav. There are RAM bike mounts for the iPhone 3g and with lots of A2DP based helmet headsets you'll be able to have music calls and sat nav in your lid with one device.

The only drawback i can see is keeping it waterproof. All the waterproof boxes i have seen are bulky and cause reflections making it hard to use the screen. I think a clear plastic freezer bag and an elastic band over the phone to the arm of the cradle is the best option.

Yeah, thats a problem, the bag type wont fit into any holder that is secure enough for bike use (adjustable foam sided car type holders wont handle the vibration). So i think i'll stick with a clear plastic bag, kept under my seat which i can just put on if it rains.

Keeping it under the screen will keep the majority of rain off anyway.
