Is anyone having problems with the voice and the pocketgps cameras?

My voice is Kate but my tomtom is now telling me that it is not a computer voice only a recorded voice.

I have checked in home and it's the 48meg version but it won't read the poi details for anything or the cameras

Nope, all working as expected. Did you mess about with different voice versions to try to cure the stuttering. I never did and it all seems OK on both a 940 and a 720.

Well it would have been if it happened to everybody!

Mine's fine too.
Well, count me as an everybody then. My 920 volume is now useless too. I'm the guy who liked to have it at 100%, which was powerful enough to frighten the daylights out of any passenger with the camera loud siren and Liz Whittaker warnings and drown the handsfree phone calls on the nearby 720. It dropped to about 50% of previous volume when updated. I found the box ticked to link volume to speed and unticked it, with a small, but not good enough improvement. Incidentally, why the dickens do TT always do this sort of thing with updates - setting some things back to what they think we should have (e.g. volume linked to speed).

Has anybody actually noticed a benefit in updating? I'm not talking about your TT still functioning as it should, but an ACTUAL enhancement in anything. What was the purpose behind this update, does any body know? Have TT embraced any known bugs in the previous version(s) from customer feedback and fixed them?

I too have the low volume issue but can compensate when playing through the stereo by turning it up.On that note i have found another small bug, if you can call it that, when playing mp3's and route instructions through the stereo, if a track has just ended when an instruction is due it plays it through the internal speaker and no music resumes. When the next route instruction plays it all returns to normal. This happened twice in about 1/2 hour journey, just depends on the timing of the track ending.

I have now reverted to 8.302 Evil or Very Mad

Having used Kate 7.00 to cure the stuttering, the update has now disabled all computer voices on my 720. Only the non TTS voices show in the list.

Back to the good old SD card working backup!

Isn't Tomtom wonderful Twisted Evil

No voices here either.

Have gone back to 8.320, and Home is now saying that I am up to date and no updates available.

Deep joy!!

So then with all these problems how long does it normally take for a fixed version to be released?

Laughing

Success!!!!!!!!

Reloaded 8.320, downloaded Kate, and it all seems to work as was.
Operate My Go is still broke of course (Thanks a bunch TT), and Home & Away still says there are no new updates. But to be honest I don't want them, and the more I think on it - I don't want this 720 any more either.

Now where's my Z to A, that never broke down.

Well, a bit of eye candy in the markers on the map view and a different way (anti-aliasing?) of drawing the screen plus FM transmission back.

Other than that has it fixed any of the other problems?

NO!!!

mp3 playback still at a significantly lower volume than the directions and no way of adjusting it independently.

Hands free still rubbish and keeps locking up etc

Still getting 'stuttering' and missing bits of words

Map lags behind your position whilst directions are being read out

If I hadn't subscribed to the map update the 920 would be on ebay by now!

Like Dennis, I too am still waiting for a fully functional Navcore over 18 months after purchasing my 920, it still isn't a Ronseal!!

Just updated and done a quick 4 mile run and noticed the following bug.

As the screen refreshes ie your position moves along the road so the map moves towards you. Every 15 seconds or so the refresh does not draw the roads for one refresh frame. It shows the background colours ie built up area’s and open areas but no roads. This has the effect of flashing an effective blank screen which catches your eye, very annoying.

I have done a paperclip reset with no improvement.

Anyone else seen this.

yea it was loud before i liked that and could here on motorway, and the option to turn down if wanted, but now it is to dam quiet, dam joke this .. i did untick but voulme went up a nats wing , the auto volume does not work also..

i mean who did the quality control was it Quark off Deep Space Nine i mean his ears are bigger than my head ..

at the moment it is useless as i drive a van , and when they do theses updates why do they not tell you a change log in Home, at least then we have a option of Not downloading it, . another thing if i phone them it will cost due to the number they give out..

Falkirk81, (tried to quote you, but I'm not proficient enough!)

Do you know how TT do their beta testing?. Do they give thier beta testers virgin equipment and then apply an upload or do they give them cart-blanch to modify, adapt and install 3rd party apps and allow them to mirror to their current TT, then apply the update and say " run this against your curent TT and let us know how you get on". ?
