we had a problem with my 720 which we have now resolve by doing a complete reinstall however although the cameras are in the tomtom western europe file and ticked on poi's they do not show and i am about to travel 500 mls + through the most hostile camera areas, not for fun, so it would be a great help if someone could point me in the right direction

ps i have tried rest device etc

Have you put the cameras into the correct map folder, for example you might have a map on the SD card and another on the internal flash memory - you need to know which is the currently active map and make sure the POI files are in the right folder.
Secondly open the Western_Europe map folder using Windows xplorer and see how many ov2 files there are within the map folder, if its over 169 this will be the problem as there is a limmit to the number of custom POI files you can install - Mike

Does this apply to the 740 live too ? im getting one soon but im a bit worried about the POI limit .. i would only use the speed cams for the UK and no other custom POI.

The 169 limit applies to the 740 too, but you've no need to worry.
That limit doesn't include the built-in POI categories, only ones you add yourself. The full speed-zoned version of the PGPSW camera database only uses up 30 categories of your 169 available.
