OK so its now working again but with a different voice, non computer voices. Kate is now not working.

I did try changing the voices earlier today and it made no difference, for some reason now it does.

Absolutely baffled.

So to get a computer voice back, what you think delete it and re-install?

Cheers

You should be able to download and install the computer voices using TT Home - Mike

It's not working again! Earlier when it started working when I went through the different voices and hit test I could hear them, now nothing when I do the same procedure!

Arrgh!

Please can you try the test ONLY when running on the car charger... just to eliminate any possible software muting at low power....

If it is still not working, do all the normal things to sort out mis-behaviour:
1. Restore a backup (preferable via Windows Explorer - see #1 of the FAQs for this forum).
2. Re-install the software, by deleting all the "loose" files in the root directory (do not delete ANY folders) and getting Home to re-install.
3. Try the "Clear Flash" utility from TomTom.

Just wanted to give an update, as Andy P and someone else said it does seem to be linked to the amount of power in the device!

What sort of stupid idea is that! it would not be too bad if it told you what is going on!

Also the level at which it decides to cut it off, the battery was still green yet no sound.

Seems daft to me.

It seems to be a typical TomTom "fix"...

Lots of people complaained about the audio circuitry starting to distort and stumble when the available power got low.

So to "cure" it, they just turn the audio off completely!

Add to that the fact that... 1. it happens too early and 2. there's no message or indication to tell you what is going on, and you've got a classic TomTom 'own goal'!
