On Saturday, we in North America were finally offered the map subscription. So, I upgraded (on my 720) from my 810 map to the current 825 NA map. The 810 map resided on a 4 gig sdhc card in my unit and I selected that storage location for the installation of the new map. The 825 did indeed overwrite my 810 map and my custom ov2 files which were in my 810 map folder automatically got transferred to the 825 map folder.

Do you use a PC? I ask as Macs handle such operations differently which may explain why this procedure wouldn't work like that on them.

No point in copying an old MapSettings.cfg file from the old map folder to the new one, as the new Navcore software is unable to read to the old file where these settings were stored

Sometimes.... Smile
Update to v8.300 was the worst for this issue, but there's nothing to say it won't work again in the future.

Tried it last night but ended up freezing up my device.

Managed to delete the WCE map again and re-install and all ok again.

I have quite complex spoken warnings so with the entire UK cameras to set up normally takes me more than 30 mins....can only type with 1 finger Wink

Every new map since I first had my 720 last April has overwritten the previous on on a PC so perhaps it's a mac thing.

My Mapsettings file transferred from the previous version (I've already forgotten what it was, it may have been 8.1 Embarassed ) to 8.3 and again to 8.302 with no problems although I only have the few favourites I am using currently in use, the rest are saved as POIs and I just make them favourites when going on a journey that I need them for.
