Map Updates

Please be very carefull if you have brought the 4 map downloads a year,

If you up date you TomTom and the maps names have change you will not get any downloads.

This happen to me I had a 700 with Central and Eastern Europe Mapsafter 2 downlaods brought a 740 Live that has Central and Western Europe which will not download.

When I contacted TomTom I asked if what was still owed be be tranfered from my 700 to my 740 they told me no all I could do was pay for new maps and then pay again for the four map updates per year.

They also came up with move maps from 700 on to 740 then upload new 700 maps but they would no guarantee that my 740 would work right.

Has any one else had this problum.

I don't think it's anything to do with the map's name changing..
If you had a subscription to the Central and Eastern Europe Map that's a totally different map to Western and Central Europe!
Both are still available for the Go 700.

What TomTom *should* make it clearer, is that when you buy a map subscription it is for ONE type of map on ONE machine. It's not normally transferable onto a different machine.
