Brand New TT 940 Map version 8.10?? Plus Latest map gnt.

Hi,

After having a 920,930 I have now just received my new shiny 940Live (Glutton for punishment).

Why has it got map version 8.10 on it? I thought these things had just hit the shops, or at least should have 8.15 on them.

I know you have got "The Latest Map Guarantee" but I don't want to use that yet as I keep reading on here that a new map is due about now. If I upgrade to 8.15 it then wont let me upgrade again even if I am still in the 30 day period, is that correct? Can anyone clarify for me.

Just make sure you use the LMG within the 30 day period, keep an eye on the forum as I am sure it will get a mention once released. he device will have been loaded with v810 maps at the factory, you never know how long a device has sat on the shelf waiting to be sold.

And remember you can only use LMG once - Mike

Hi All,

I have map version 8.10 on my TT940 on both the the Western Europe Map and North America.

I tried to use the Latest Map Guarantee tonight as I knew the New Maps were released today (8.25), and the Latest Map Guarantee says there are no new maps available and I have the latest maps!!

I am within the 30 days, it expires on March 14th,

Any Suggestions?

You will need application 8.3 for map versions 8.15 and now 8.25, to work properly. Since 8.25 for both NA and GB & WE were released today, there is no reason to hold back from calling TomTom support to explain the situation.

They are well used to Home giving faulty info regarding LMG.

Expect to be asked for a scan, fax, photo or similar of the sales receipt. As I said, no point waiting any longer.

From what I have read in these forums today, you are only entitled to v810 maps as they were the latest maps when you first used or purchased your 940.

im going to buy a TT 940 live today and wit hthe LMG.. does that count for all maps installed on the device or only one pf them?

It applies to all the maps you have installed to the device when purchased, if it doesn't work correctly you will need to phone TomTom support on 0845 161 0009 and don't take no for an answer - Mike

same here, I was holding out but bought yesterday on the release of 825, my 940 came with 810 and LMG tells me I am upto date so I cannot update.

Its funny though how the paid for map upgrade service is constantly telling me my maps are 2 quarters old and I can pay for upto date maps!

same here updated my 940 to 8.310
clicked on the latest map guarantee hoping to see V8.25 pop up and surprise surprise no maps available !!!
i'll bet TT support are gonna be busy ......
