Hi All,
Just checked the Navman website and SP2 i now available for download!
Just goto to the normal SP1 update page and download PATCH80 (Same as the last one for SP1 I assume - but I got the new one cos I've backup up the old files onto DVD.)
No idea if it works - except to say that it hs downloaded ok and I've updated mine without a hitch.
Just trying it in simulation mode - now get clouds in the sky - apparently its now 16bit colour! _________________ Mark

I've made this an announcement to bump it to the top of the forum - hopefully this will keep all discussion iabout SP2 in the one thread, as well as helping people find out about this release.

Since downloading sp2 I have been getting error messages when maps
are loading from my memory card. The message reads as follows:
ERROR
Cannot open file b:\navman\pois\US181G00.map for inpu...
I have tried reformatting the card and reloading the maps. |

Hi
First impressions of SP2 installed on my iCN630, after giving it a good runout today, are that it looks OK .
The annoying problem of a Software Crash resulting in a total screen lockup, showing the message Assert Failure experienced with V2 + SP1 appears to have been fixed. This happened when attempting to programme certain addresses. I've tried my 'problem address's today and no problems occur This is good because the only way of clearing this fault was to pull the plug on the unit.
I still get odd voice instructions at some roundabouts, such as: "At the Rounabout take the 4th Exit but the map is quite clearly showing the 3rd Exit .
I liked Angelfire's comment regarding the clouds, I always had what looked to be white clouds when operating in 3D mode, but now they look more like Thunderstorm Clouds, I hope it's not an Omen
Finally for now, ( a minor thing ) the voice files have been cleaned up. Using SP1 I had 5 Voices, now it's reverted back to the original 4 which came with Version 1 Software.
It will be interesting to see how other iCN 630 users get on with the SP.
Best wishes

I have downgraded to sp 1 and have no problems or error messages
now when maps are loaded from my memory cards. I have also opened
a case with Navman tech support |

Bit confused.
It clearly says that the SPI is for the ICN 630 (I haven'y got around to downloading it yet).
But the SP2 just says its for the Pocket PC.
How do you know it is for the ICN 630? |

Hi Kev
Have you gone thhrough your iCN Desktop. Try it that way and you will see the Service Pack for V2 listed with a date showing 14 June 2004. Click onto the the Service Pack heading and it will take you into the update programme. It worked for me the other evening because I did it. If you are still getting problems contact me. I will be updating our other iCN tomorrow.
Regards

Thanks for the info guys,
Just upgraded to SP2, now wouldn't it be grrrrrrrrreat if the M6 Toll road was now featured....every time i go down that road my navman has kittens, my car must be chitty chitty bang bang as I can according to my navman drive through lakes, farmhouses and rivers without a single mark on my car
Still since buying this brilliant gadget, have realised just how wonderful it is and am constantly amazed at this wonderful bit of technology.
