The odometer is out by a similar amount as my speedometer in my 406.

Before I got a satnav I tried an autoroute route and followed the trip odometer readings to prompt me for each turn. By the time I got to London (100miles) I was several miles adrift.

The fuel consumption on the trip computer is also out by a similar amount compared with brimming the tank & working it out from the odometer.

I would suggest that it was Autoroute that was adrift rather than your odometer, I never trust autoroute for distances, because I know for a fact they are more often than not wrong.

And don't forget that as the tread depth on your tyres wears from 7mm to 2mm, your speedometer/odometer accuracy changes by a further 2.5% approx

My TT530 reads slower than the speedo in my Nissan, by 2-3mph at 30-40mph and 4mph at 70-80mph indicated. I have had the accuracy of my speedo checked against 1/10km motorway red/blue posts with a stopwatch and a few calculations; this puts the more accurate readings definitely with the TT.

From the Sirf Star lll specifications at www.sirf.com/products/GSC3LPProductInsert.pdf

Velocity Accuracy
Speed<0.01 m/ s
Heading <0.01°

Position Accuracy
< 10 M at 2D RMS.

60mph =26.8m/sec (approx) and .01m/sec as a percentage of 26.8 = about 0.04%. There you go. Is your speedo more accurate than this?? Very Happy No competition I suspect
