I want to use it for the usual as well: diary, contacts, emails, and internet access. For the last (internet access) it appears to be the best in its class, but I'm not sure that there are all the accessories that one needs: external connections (USB is only available through the desk cradle, the infrared link seems to be the only other connection except of course GPRS), car charger, car mount, battery pack, protective cover.
I'd appreciate any experience from others. So far I'm rather impressed, but worried that the apparent omissions make it impractical.
I previously used PowerLoc Destinator V2.0 on an HP Jornada 928 with reasonable success (problems: the Jornada locks up and you need to stop the car, take it from the mount so that you could access its recess button; the battery life was short, and when batteries went flat all the data was lost and the program had to be re-loaded). I have so far been unable to load the PowerLoc software on to the Maui (Power Handheld), but always get the error message: "Destinator Loader: unknown device processor type 2577 or OS(3410)"

It was reviewed recently in PDA Essntials and didn't fare too well! It runs WinCE.Net which is not the same as the WinCE you have on today's Pocket PC's hence the issues you have _________________ Darren Griffin

It sounds ARM based (processor type 2577 is ARM from memory). Whilst Pocket PC 2003 is built on top of Windows CE .NET 4.20, you won't get much Pocket PC software to work on a non-Pocket PC Windows CE device. I suspect this device is using Windows CE .NET, but has custom software on top instead of Pocket PC.
I'd steer clear of such a device and go for something that runs Pocket PC - but that's a personal thing.
Casio had some devices that ran Windows CE but not Pocket PC in the past - they were regarded as very good, but software availability was rather limited for them.
