After many, Many recommendation on here ive been looking at getting a 520 and bringing up to a 530 rather than shell out on a x30. Ive managed to find one for £129:-

http://www.purelygps.co.uk/p-187-tomtom-go-520.aspx

Is the seller reputable? Anyone used them before or even heard of them? I assume "ALL NEW" sales of TomTom are eligible for the update? Id hate to save £20-30 and not been able to update. Thanks in advance

It could well be genuine, dealers are trying to clear their last remaining stocks of the 520, 720 etc. If you are at all worried about the dealer, pay by credit card rather than debit card and you will get protection from Visa or Mastercard. But hurry, when they're gone they're gone!

From what I could gauge from doing a quick trawl on t'internet, it is one of a new set of websites, the others being Apple stuff(Ipods etc.) Software stuff and one other (the others not being live yet).

To me it just looks vey very new, they seem to have a few employees, 2 chap who are running it, and 6 others.

It is all to do with PurelyWebStores, do a search in google and see what you think.

Their main site is here

http://www.purelywebstores.co.uk/

Cheers

Carl

There is a company called http://www.purelygadgets.co.uk/prodpage.php?stage=prod&catid=52&subid=361&itemid=1051&begin=0
I do not know if there is any connection between the two !!
I have never dealt with any of the companies above so I do not know if they are legit .

I think it makes more sense than ever to go with a well established company in these financially troubled times .
I am sure over the next year we will hear of companies who have gone under.
But must add established ones as well will also be under pressure

I'd concur, the old adage 'buy cheap pay twice' is worth remembering as is 'if it seems to good to be true it is'!

The x20's are hard to find at the mo as they can be easily and cheaply upgraded to x30 spec. That price seems way to low to be correct.

For anyone interested the 520 Special is available on handtec for £137...

"Includes one years speed camera update and one free map update - valid until June 2009"

Am i right in thinking other than the initial cost there is no additional charges?

Correct other than future map update costs of course.

If you are worried about who you buy from Halfords have 10% off everything for online purchases or "reserve and collect" until Tuesday. If you are a member of any schemes where you buy their vouchers at a discount you can use this as well.

The "web exclusive" prices seem to be what you get charged with a reserve and collect.

I think that refers to you cannot buy gift or SatNav vouchers under this offer and get the 10% discount rather than you cannot use gift vouchers you have already purchased. I may be wrong and often different stores interpret these rules in different ways.

Halfords have various schemes with organisations and partners where you can buy a £10 voucher for £9 (subject to a minimum value) and I believe you can use these when buying something under the 10% offer.
