Hi

I've noticed that any music playback is paused whilst a verbal instruction is played on my TT930 - is there anyway to stop this happening. IE, I would rather the music continue whilst the voice instruction also played?

Thanks

The only way to do this without pausing the music is to use a Bluetooth HiFi stereo connection between the car deck and the 930. The quality is great even if the volume is a little on the low side, and you get the option not to pause the music while setting this up - I use such a setup as I prefer this method of playback - Mike

OK, thanks - as my car head unit doesn't have bluetooth playback, and apart from changing the head unit itself, is there another way to use the bluetooth playback?? IE, bluetooth speakers (small ones)?

Cheers

In theory you could use BT speakers IF the TomTom will connect to them, it claims to support the A2DP Bluetooth protocol, but in practice the unit is rather choosy as to what equipment it will connect to using the Bluetooth system. Best option is to try it out with the playback device before you spend any money - there is a patch that can be applied to the device that increases the chances of a working BT connection but even that isn't 100% - Mike

"Bluetooth" got my attention. I am not suggesting this for your enabled device, but bluetooth stereo audio transmitters are becoming more commonplace now. I am considering one of these to stream audio from my non bluetooth MP3/movie player to my headphones.

There's a FANTASTIC "fix" for this problem HERE

I don't really understand how it works but basically it makes the TomTom accept pairing with units that define themselves as Bluetooth "hands-free" devices (which is what most car radios do) rather than Bluetooth "A/V" devices.

It worked brilliantly on my new Sony radio which the TomTom wouldn't touch otherwise.

Once installed, it appears as a new item on the last page of the main TT menu.
Tap it one, nothing seems to happen, but the next time you attempt to pair, it just works!
