my mates got a mitac mio 338 and on ebay he has seen a gps reciever for one, are they compatible together will the ppc do the gps Question

What kind of GPS? The Mio 338 has an SD slot for memory cards (also SDIO ready) and a Sync Connector for a Mouse Type GPS.

No reason why they won't work, the original Medion GPS Bundle was a 338 equivalent minus the built-in camera that came with a Royaltek GPS Mouse and works well.

cheers mate its a mouse type that plugs in to the sync conection but what gps software would he have to use on it and how much would it cost and is there anything else he would need

sorry about the questions but me and him are absolute beginers at this

Well he can run any PocketPC compatible GPS software that accepts NMEA data (that's nearly all of them) including TomTom, CoPilot, Destinator, Navman etc.

In addition he's need a SD or MMC memory card on which to store the maps and a bracket to mount the 338 in-car and that's it. For prices you'd be best checking with some of the advertisers on the right.
