A poster in a US TomTom forum who WAS a tech for TomTom (more later) yesterday seemed to confirm the recent 'drifting' problem suffered by users on both sides of the Atlantic was due to a faulty quickfix file and suggested that by navigating in TTHome to Remove items from my unit and selecting the quickfix file should remedy the problem.

As to the 'WAS'.....

He joined the forum 2 days ago, clearly stated that he was a TomTom tech, and proceeded to provide many useful posts in many threads.

One post he made was reference to the fact that TomTom USA is out of 910's in stock and those returning their units under warranty were getting reburbished 920's as replacements.

Well, apparently the bosses at TT North America also monitor the forum or otherwise found out what he stated and proceeded to fire him yesterday for revealing that information in a public forum!

Nice, eh?

Hi dhn
It may not have been nice of Tomtom to fire the employee in question but it was certainly unwise of the employee to blab on the forum.

Indeed, and perhaps shows a little commercial niavety to have posted info like that to a public forum. Maybe the employee was senior/should have known better, which is why they were fired.

I'm up in the Midlands and I've had this issue on and off for the last week or so. And yes, I use GPS quickFix.

I've also noticed that the Tom Tom (Go 710) has been rather sluggish to follow my route when it is on the right road and instructions to turn etc are a few seconds after I have made the turn!

Thought it was just me experiencing problems. Thought unit was perhaps on the way out so I'm glad to hear others have seen the same effect.

OK, this is weird. I've tried twice to post the above to the forum dealing with current Tom Tom position errors but it keeps getting posted here. Sorry chaps.
