About a month before my Tomtom traffic subscription was due to expire I received an option on Tomtom Home to renew my subscription for another year. I did it and I really wish I hadn't.
The renewal was accepted and the money taken very efficiently, but from that moment on my Traffic service stopped working. I've been onto Tomtom many times now and this still hasn't been resolved, it appears that my new subscription, due to start mid September has overwritten my existing subscription. The result is that my device will not be able to receive any Traffic data until the new contract starts in another week an a half. Tomtoms helpline have been useless, "It's been escalated" is all I can get out of them, but I've now been without a service, which I've paid for, for 2 weeks now. My advice, don't renew until it runs out.
Still, I've still got my TMC radio option, but of cause that is totally useless and never reports any traffic hold-ups (see loads of other forums on this).
Won't be buying another Tomtom.

Not sure, but I wonder if this is related to the same problem I have had for 6 weeks now? I replaced my PDA running TT with a new TT930 and have never been able to get the traffic subscription working since. Numerous coms with TT support, who have had me do numerous resets, clear flash's, deletion/re-establishment of connections with my phone etc - all to no avail. Originally, the error message I got said the data I was trying to access had been purchased for a different device (despite "my tomtom" showing the correct new device code) now I just get a message saying there is a server error.

On yet another call to TT support today (they promised to call me back last week....) they have told me this is a problem affecting 100's of traffic subscribers in the UK and 2nd line are still investigating. They have said they will extend my subscription, but frankly that is not my real concern - I am just hacked off at not being able to use a service on my shiny, standard, top of the range product that used to work fine on my knackered old PDA!

Anyone else getting this message?

Hi.

Sorry you've had problems but I can assure you that when I have renewed my Traffic sub early twice, (once due to a promotion and once due to a holiday), it is seamless and the new sub gets added on to the old one.

I suspect, as already has been said, that there is a problem at TT.

Nothing new there then! Wink

Edit: @mug. Have you reset your account in the Plus services area on the TT website? Just a thought

Have you tried to see if you can still access Traffic on your iPaq, assuming you still have the setup running?

Interesting! Have dragged the iPaq out of retirement and YES it still connects to traffic! Unfortunately, that does not help me much as charging problems make it not that useful. May be if I feed that back to TT, it might help?

It means that the process you used to transfer the Traffic to your new device either wasn't correct or there is a problem at the TT end.

Speaking to them MAY resolve the issue Wink

Try going through the account reset procedure again and make sure your device is showing correctly in your account.

Good Luck

After a week of naive discussion with TomTom I now have the same message as reported earlier; ie this is a problem which has ben escalated and we will give you a refund. No predicted fix date.

my latest update from TT Support........

"At this moment we are still having issues with the traffic server and most users are not able to use the Service. Our apologies for the inconvenience."

Which is a bit odd 'cause it works a treat on my old iPaq despite the fact that the device code shown on my tomtom is the device code for the new 930T - I think they must have some real system problems.

Had a mail from TT advising me to connect 730 to PC, open Home and update account settings. Then use the usual 'Reset Account' process - and it works.

Would hate you to think I ignored your advice! Tried it again when you suggested, but to no effect. I can only assume that until the server problem TT support kept telling me they had was fixed, the reset was not effective.
