PPC250 - Has anyone actually tried to see if its SDIO yet??

from what I have read up the card does have the adhoc function as do the socket cards. So you SHOULD be ok hopefully Mr. Green

It is in the Access point part of my WiFi card configuration page which at the moment for some reason seems to be greyed out so I cant access it. Just going to try some other card drivers and see if that will free it up.

Just to confirm that adhoc works fine with my Sandisk SD WiFi card and Medion PPC200 connecting to my desktop & laptop using Buffalo WiFi PCMCIA cards. No access point needed.

i have just got the medion mdppc250 and 1 of the first things i wanted next was to know if the slot was an sdio and thanks to you guys i can hook mine up to my wireless network soon as i get a wifi card cheers lads surfnutt Thumbs Up

The Sandisk Wi-Fi SD card with 256 MB of memory is available now.
Has anybody tried this in the Medion yet?
I read somewhere about some Pocket PCs not being compatible with multi-function SDIO cards like this one and I would like to know that it will work before I buy one.

I ordered the SanDisk 256MB+WiFi SDIO card from Expansys about three weeks ago. Its been working fine on my Medion MDPPC250, connecting both to my Linksys WRT54G at home and also connected to the T-Mobile network at Budapest airport.

The Sandisk part number is SDWSDB-256, err, but there is also QPUSDIOCOMBO written on it.

I'm just a little worried that I may drop it at some point as it sticks out a couple of centimeters.

Hello just been reading the posts up above and i have got the medion ppc250 and i dont have clue on what the wifi and all these things mean! But what i want is to connect to the internet through my medion? do i need one of these card things? Also does it just connect to internet wirelessly? but where to? any help would be appriciated Embarassed

There's two main ways to connect to a network such as the Internet wirelessly.

Wi-Fi is the sort of wireless networking supported on wireless broadband routers, with wireless access points, with Wi-Fi "Hotspots" such as BT Openzone, or between Wi-Fi equipped computers (so-called adhoc).

Bluetooth is a slower, more general purpose type of wireless - it can be used to connect to Bluetooth mobile phones (and hence to the Internet when out and about - typically using GPRS) as well as other Bluetooth devices such as Bluetooth GPSes.

More expensive Pocket PCs tend to have one or both of these built in; my iPAQ hx4700 has both built in. I believe the Medion MDPPC250 has neither built in - hence the discussion about SDIO add-on cards that support Wi-Fi.

new to all this and wanted you guys to point me in the right direction, , i have the medion, mdppc250, , and use it to drive limos, , but it dont know some new housing estates///streets, , where can i find a link to update the card, , also, , looking to add the speed cameras onto it, , any ideas, , thanks guys, ,
