Map updates

My Nuvi 310 tells me I need a map update (correctly), and I have seen items like this on eBay. I am not clear whether they are legitimate, grey, or pirated, and what effect that might have on any subsequent update. Anyone have knowledge or exerience of getting updates from non Garmin sources?

That eBay disk could well be one the ones Garmin gave away FREE earlier this year. You'd still need to buy an unlock code from Garmin though.

I'd either stick to buying direct from Garmin or from a reputable selling (someone here will advise) and would avoid eBay as the sale makes no mention of the Unlock Code.
