Apparently they are working very hard on it according to my numerous support calls Laughing

Then again they have been working very hard on fixing RDS-TMC with Navcore 7 since the initial release!

Apologies (I am a newbie) if these topics have been covered before (or if I have posted this in the wrong thread), but rather than reading days of posts, maybe someone knows the answers?

Recently I have updated my 720 via the tomtom v2 software.

Although I can still see the "safety cameras" on the map, I used to get an audible warning too. This is using all tomtom software & NOT the database from PocketGPSWorld,
This no longer happens. Is there any way that I can reset this in the plethora of settings in my 720?

The bluetooth "tomtom traffic" feature that I paid for doesn't seem to want to work anymore. The 720 connects to my phone (Nokia 6630 - Orange is the provider) but cannot establish a connection with the traffic feature anymore. It was always hit & miss (& worked better on the continent), but now it refuses to work at all (when I've tried to use it (eg on the M25)).

Although I have reported the following to tomtom it still isn't fixed.
J9 off the M25 going towards Kingston, it shows "London SW", yet the voice says "London Software", where it's meant to be "London South West"

My details:

DeviceVersionHW=GO 720
RamDiskVersion=20080324
BootLoaderVersion=54106
LinuxVersion=3024
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7481
ApplicationVersion=9086
UserLanguage=English UK

Thanks.

How were you expecting/hoping for it to get fixed?
They might correct it on a future map version or maybe even a software version, but it won't be fixed via MapShare if that's what you were hoping.

Just docked my 520 and it upgraded from 7.480 to 7.481

No real issues with 480 except long on button press and backlight off on shutdown screen

On my sofa I have 7 satellites with the average signal bars at 50%

tried navigation to a post code, poi, divert for traffic and all seems normal.

Also started to use my bluetooth remote which really helps and instant play of music Smile

I upgraded to version 7.481 but now I can't enter a street name on the "navigate to address" function. It gets to the street screen and then hangs with a "one moment please" message. Eventually times out and switches off! The function works fine when using the screen emulator in TomTom Home v2.3 but not on the device itself when disconnected. I can navigate via postcode or favourite or point of interest but not via address. TomTom have tried to talk me through going back to version 7.221(?) but although this seems to work it doesn't solve the problem!

Anyone out there with the same problem? Any ideas for solving it?

For the moment, that is the only resolution (going back to 7.221) since the functionality is broken, as users found out, in 7.481.

yet still TT Home pushes v7.481 on us every time we connect.
Why on Earth have TT not "pulled" it off their servers?

There is another thread on here that says that this can be fixed by a reset and then restore factory defaults. Anyone tried that?

You're right Kev - it didn't work! What's worse I seem to have lost the ability to use my Traffic subscription as well.

Can't be sure but mine started doing this a few days ago. coincidentally it was around that time that I got an onscreen message which I clicked yes to allow tomtom to collect journey stats. I disabled the collection of stats on tomtom home last night and so far I have not seen the "one moment please" message.
Possibly coincidence but worth a try.

Dont install 7.481 it screwed up my 920T big time and I could not even recover it via the restore!

I am now attempting to put my backup which I made seperatly, back into the 920T's internal memory and also the external memory, I hope this works!

Needless to say I am exteremly disapointed in TomTom's inability to produce a working firmware, dont you test it TomTom or are you just raking it in by the amount of phonecalls you get after you screw up peoples expensive now non working GPS units with faulty firmware?

UPDATE:
Its now working again, no thanks to TomTom Home restore though!
