Hi

My 18 month old Tom tom 300 is having trouble logging on to satelittes when initially switched on sometimes taking up to one hour to log on and sometimes never finding them.

A tom tom repair site suggest a FACTORY RESET but do not tell me how to do this, i have done a normal reset with no joy but cant find how to do a factory reset

It's under Preferences but you'll lose your home address & favourites

In the map folder on your 300 is a file called MapSettings.cfg which contains these details - copy it onto your PC before you do the factory reset, then copy it back again afterwards.
