Hi, since I do not speak English translation with google.
I have this forum with Google and found this story with interest since I read in German no discussion on map overlays found.
Have also created overlays recognizes TomTom Home unfortunately it is not and I can not for all this Release.
Name of overlays:
1.gif
1.sat
This content:
1.gif
8.xxxxx
50.xxxxx
8.xxxxx
50.xxxxx
0
65535
315
315
The same again with a jpg tried both in the map.
Can someone tell me why TomTom Home does not recognize the overlays?
...

I take it the contents above are saved in the file called '1.sat' and this file together with '1.gif' are saved in a directory called 'raster' ??

Has anyone managed to make their own 'Map Overlays' yet. TomTom have an example with the CeBit Exhibition Centre. How about one of the NEC in Birmimgham.

I have had a go at creating one for the NEC here

This may seem like a stupid question, but how did you manage to save the .sat file? I tried using Wordpad, as suggested by TT, but could not save the file I created as a .sat. Any suggestions ?

Notepad works fine. When saving, type the full name (including .sat) for the filename and change file type to "All files".

RedFive1 The way I managed to do it was by opening up the zip file from the quote from pcaouolte, copy the sat file onto your desktop. right click and open with notepad. then make your own file, save it and rename it to whatever you want. It worked for me.

My thanks to all who have posted about the NEC overlay. This information allowed me to create a map overlay for Scouting Headquarters in Scotland.

See www.fordell-firs.org.uk/sitemaps the files are called fordell_4_tomtom
I probably would not have managed this without these postings - thanks to all.
