i have a new edition x970t, i purchased it because of its ability to connect to my bluetooth enabled mobile phone and therefore having a hands free car kit ( something what i needed for work ) I have had problems since day one using the cradle device. I can use the sat nav for making phone calls very easily indeed, the touch screen feature is really cool, and my work mates are really impressed However, when i recieve a phone call there is a problem There is no audio from the person i am having a call from....although they can hear me shouting HELLO..HELLO !! Now then, if i do not have the cigarette lighter plug powered up, i can hear the other person, and the unit works ok.
Therefore, when i recieve a call, i unplug the lighter plug, press accept and once the conversation has started i can plug it back in !! This is not ideal, and i am not that impressed has anyone had this problem ??[/u]
Yup - precisely the same problem with most incoming calls.
They can hear me but I can't hear them - have tried 2 separate phones. Sony and Nokia - both with the same result.
Further symptom is audio nav instructions then become distorted until a hard reset is carried out using a paper clip.
Sometimes the distortion happens after simply "connecting the VM with a phone using Bluetooth.
I've also had several complete lock-ups associated with using Bluetooth.
I've made several postings on this - Deepfour has never commented and VM tech sent a standard cut and paste e-mail explaining how to do a hard reset.
You have at least discovered a workaround of sorts, so thanks for that.
The bottom line from VM is "problem, what problem?"
A big shame as other aspects of the 970T are generally good.
Even the TMC works well as long as I stay in my local area on the M25.
