Accurace Issues

Hi there,

I was just wondering what the best connection type to use with TomTom3 to BT Fortuna. i.e SIRF 38600, Tomtom Wireless, Nmea 38600. Im only asking becuase ever since i upgraded to Tomtom 3 i have had issues with accuracy and general slowness on updating information on the map.
Before on my old system approaching a road would be spot on, with this it lags behind.
Also when in roads that are close together it put me on the wrong road im actually at.

I never had these issues with Tomtom 2

Is anyone lese having this problem.

I very much doubt that the problem is the GPS protocol you're using.

Particularly as it seems that Navigator 3 is harder on memory cards than Navigator 2 was, can you post any codes printed on your memory card if it's an SD card - and have you any idea how fragmented it is?

For fragmentation, if you haven't a defragmenter, you can copy all the files off the card, copy the map back first, then put everything else back (it's best to put back the files you change the most on the card last of all). If you had files on the card when you deleted your Navigator 2 map and copied the Navigator 3 map to the card, the chances are that the new map files landed up pretty fragmented.
