I've had a 920 for about 6 weeks. At first, I had no problems setting the GPS location and even set up a button on the main screen for that.

Now it always tells me I have poor GPS reception and asks if I'm inside a building. Even if I'm walking around with it in a parking lot!

Any suggestions?
Thanks
Doug

Try Quick fix and a recalibrate.

To recalibrate, go outdoors in the wide open. Hit the gps signal icon and then tap options. You then get to the configure coordinate units screen. Choose the bottom selection (of 3 available) and tap done.

Apparently this resets the GPS receiver???

Ugg??

First, where did you hear about that little gem?

Only trouble is.. when you say "Hit the gps signal icon" assuming you mean the signal strength bars, I don't get an "options" on the next screen (the route summary).
Can you run through it again, please?

As for your original question Doug, I'd go for the reset, try Infama's trick (if you can find it!) and also connect up to TT's Home utility and get the GPSQuickFix data (which reminds it where the satellites are).

If that lot doesn't sort it, it's broke!

I think he means that you tap the satellite bars, and in the next screen that shows the individual satellite bars, tap them again.

I think ....... Very Happy

If you tap the signal strength bars, then tap the bars icon below the battery, that gets you to the 'GPS Status' page (with all the individual satellites strength bars.

Still no "options" though.... Only a "configure" which just lets you set the format you want the Lat/Long co-ordinates shown in.

Okay.......blame infama for the confusion this time Laughing

Anyway......the third option when you click 'configure' again is to show the lat & long values as seconds.

It is selecting this choice that supposedly recalibrates the signals.

I tried that "calibration" a few weeks ago,and it messed up my position really good!!
On the satelite bars strengh clik on the screen(it flickers),then press the configure button, chosse the third option, then press done, done.
In my case,it put me around 50 meters ahead all the time!!
So if your position on the gps is always behind(50meters)from your real position, use it.
I had to do a reset operation to be back to normal.

Didn't seem to do anything (except change the Lat/Long display format you'd expect).

Anyone know where news of this supposed feature comes from?

The answer turned out to be updating QuickFix.
