The above is available on the TOM TOM website, it fixes a problem with the IPAq 2210

TomTom have still failed to fix the locking of the COM port issue. Yet again you need to install this update then uninstall it so that other apps can access the BT com port.

I wonder what will happen if TomTom write an uninstall program that actually uninstalls the GPS?

So what will happen when using Tomtom traffic (when it is available) with a BT connection to a GPRS mobile phone and BT GPS operating in tandem?

TomTom's BT Com Port locking issues affect only the Bluetooth GPS Serial Port, they do not affect partnerships with other Bluetooth devices.

Got to admit I am a little confused now - I have looked at the tomtom website and both the 3.01 and 3.02 updates state that they fix a problem with the ipaq 2210 and intermittent connections with BT GPS.

I have a 2210 and a BT GPS yet I have no problems with connection nor with any locking of the com port as far as I can see - well I didn't until I tried the first update (which I thought was numbered 3.01) and had to uninstall and then re install, and all worked well again.

The question is therefore, is this (3.02) the promised update for 2210 users? If so, should I go ahead with it as I seem to have a functioning product with no problems as such - It isn't broken so would I be silly to attemp to fix it?

Any thoughts would be useful

It all works and does what I paid for it to do so why

about with it and maybe screw something up

Would be interested however to know if this is the update that TT had promised for 2210 owners

It's only TomTom GPS that's been updated (to 3.02). Navigator is still at 3.01. But it looks as if they're saying that Navigator 3.01 will now work on a 2210 provided that GPS 3.02 is installed. That's my reading of it, anyhow.

The new 3.01 Navigator installs the GPS 3.02 App as its is packaged with it.

OK so let me see if I understand this right. I have a 2210 with TT BT receiver; I order the update, I get Navigator 3.01 which will install GPS 3.02 and this will work on my 2210, but . . . .

. . . according to Mr T I then need to uninstall something (I'm not quite sure what, can you elaborate please). Does this involve the regisrty hack I did a while ago which made using the BT receiver so very much better? (see sticky)

And then of course there is the iPAQ ROM update, should I do this? Before updating TT would seem to be a good time, however . . . . . ..

How did a straightforward update get so complicated?

I am not sure, someone else will help.
But the new GPS Driver 3.02 reacts different to previous versions.
I have not had one lockup since the update (2210 User), but every 10 mins or so I hear the signal lock sound (high pitched tone)

Like it drops the connection but reconnects automatically, as if it is pinging the device?????

Not complaining as this is the most stable it has been, more stable than TT2.

Are we back to using Gps 2.07 with ttn 3.02 upgrade:-

When the 3.01 update came out I loaded the Gps driver into ttn2.24 to try it out, it wasn’t any different to Gps 2.09 in that you had to uninstall once to kick start it……..but it worked ok, so I guess Gps 2.07 will work with 3.02 upgrade Question
