Hi All.

Several issues...

1) Does anyone have a way to use NGB/OSGB Grid Ref's for inserting POI's? Or to convert these Grid Ref's to decimal Lat/longs?

2) Does anyone have a custom POI database for Byeways Open to All Traffic? I'm a keen off-roader, and want as many as possible to go play in the mud! OR is anyone out there who wants to work on a project of this nature

3) Anyone know if there's a way to extricate the poition of a saved favourite from the unit to create a POI database?

CHeers Guys

Gord

I use This online converter when messing with coordinates, it will certainly do what you want. As I don't use the hardware you have its down to someone else to answer 2 & 3 though - Mike

Well, That seems a good system there, Mike, but do you have any idea (or indeed does anyone have any idea) of a way that I can do say, about 600 such conversions in one batch? or even a smaller batch, rather than one at a time... Also, any ideas if WGS84 is the correct datum for a STreetpilot? I hope so...

Hi Gord,

if you have MS Excel on your system you could try my conversion routines at

http://www.bangor.ac.uk/is/iss025/osgbfaq.htm

Accuracy to about a metre. Choose WGS84 not OS 1936.

Email me directly at phil dot brady at hotmail dot co dot uk with any queries; I've left the University but they still kindly host these pages..

Regards
Phil

Thanks Phil.

Looks like handy info. I've emailed you a couple of questions, as offered!

Thanks

Gordon
