2610 - cannot load map of France - please help

I have a 2610 and City Navigator v9 Europe.
I can load detailed maps of the UK with no problems.
Yesterday I loaded up maps of UK and the top half of France (well inside the 256M limit of my SD card)
I ended up with detail maps of UK and still only base maps for France.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong, any advice would be appreciated.

Is the DVD unlocked for the whole of Europe or just for the UK?

You may have 'unlock' the other regions?!!!
