Hi All,

I just purchased an o2 XDA Orbit with the free Copilot software. I installed it from the mini sd card and all seemed ok. I entered the product key and activation code which all went well.

Then I proceeded to setup the options but under 'Set Language' there is no language to choose and no voice either. I tap 'Next' anyway and choose Mile as my 'Map Units', tap next again and I cannot get past the warning screen that mentions 'exercising caution whilst using the product'. I have re-installed, onto the device and storage card and from the sd card anbd pc, and searched the Internet all day and cannot find anything. I'm bored and tired.

Does any have a solution or experienced this problem? I guesing it's something to the with paths pointing to the wrong location but I'm not sure.

Regards,

Aston

Did the software come on a supplied memory-card? ALK have a UK Support team and are normally very helpful:

Think that was the problem I had on installation, my pda didn't like the mini sd card. Worked fine once files copied on to a proper SD card and loaded from scratch after a hard reset. No explanation from Copilot other than I wasn't the only one.

But the Orbit will not accept anything other than a micro SD (Transflash) card - Mike

Thanks Darren,

You pointed me in the right direction.

The support link was very helpful. The problem I had (and it was my fault) was that when I initially wanted to install copilot I wanted it on my 2G sd card I had previously instead of having copilot's supplied 1 G sd card stuck in my xda. So I copied the copilot software from the supplied sd card onto my laptop then from my laptop onto my other 2 G sd card using the xda as the intermediary. However, as Windows warned, copying from the laptop to the xda directly meant that some of the files must have been changed and corrupted and hence the problem I had.

Anyway, it is possible to fully restore the copilot software onto the supplied sd card or onto any other sd card so that you can use a large sd card. However to this you MUST use a card reader which will keep the intergrity of the files.

If you need to restore copilot 7 click the support link above and do a search for recreating copilot version 7
