Just a quicky
Since upgrading to V7 the speed limit no longer displays next to actual speed, even though it is checked in status bar prefs
Any ideas

On which model and which version of v7, so others can compare?
Its working on all versions I've had on a 720, but the different models are showing quite a few differences now. It's still red but no longer flashes.
It sounds like you're doing all the right things, but the usual cry of "have you done a reset" and "try restore to factory settings" come to mind.
Sorry if this is obvious, but it's not just that you've been driving on roads that just don't have the speed embedded in the map data.? |

Do you have 3 pages of Menus under Status Bar Preferences?
On the second Page of mine is an Option Show max speed next to speed. _________________ Richard

I have noticed big changes since upgrading to V 7.161 on my TT 700 and I like most of them. The actual speed and speed limit do show in white normally providing you have set it up as above, but the actual speed changes to red together with an audible warning when over the limit, but the speed limit now remains white - which I like as it is easier to see.
What I do NOT like is the actual speed is very slow to change red. It used to change when about 2-3 mph over the limit, but now doesn't change until 5, 6 or even 7 mph over.

Mine kicks in at 2 - 3 mph over the limit. _________________ Graham.

Going back to the original question... are you aware that the speed limit information is only available for SOME roads? If it is missing from the map data you won't see it. |

Yes , and there missing on roads you dont expect them to be missing on . Whats also apparent is the number of errors linked to speed on tomtom maps [ not where the speeds been changed but 30mph sections where there 50 + and no reason - couple of typical examples section on A483 dual carriage tomtom thinks theres a 200mtr section of 30 ] Most of Telford main roads are 50 but TomTom thinks its 30. Link road [B5063 which TomTom sent down no speed limit .. although if you go in to corrections the correct data's there.
Hope tomtom sort speed errors out quickly , im reporting them as they crop up via mapshare . |

Hi, I have never been able to get the speed limit displayed or the speed flash on my TT 700. I now have version 7.162 and maps v6.06 W. Europe. I have done a reset but not restore factory defaults as I didn't want to loose the speed camera warnings but I will if I have to. Has anyone any ideas?
Thanks
Steve |

Do you mean V660 Maps?
Have you gone in to Status Bar Preferences.
Second Menu Screen has Show max speed next to speed. _________________ Richard

When did the speedlimit data start getting added to the maps?
I thought it was 6.75? |

Mine came with 650 maps installed and it had speed limit data on the device (although it wasn't very good) - the newer maps are much better but still contain ridiculous errors (motorways at 40MPH for example), but I would still like to see a map share icon available to address speed errors, typing them in on the device as other alterations just isn't practical - Mike |

It also seems like these speed errors are causing routing errors. My 910 with latest Central & West Eu takes me on country roads avoiding a 70mph dual carriageway which is marked on TomTom as a 40.
Tried Mapshare to correct it but it still shows as a 40.
(And Yes I have selected fastest route in the planning options) |
