Is there any difference in operation between a TT1 2nd edition with v7 software & a 3rd edition?
I know the 3rd ed. has no SD card & can use the TMC accessory but other than that I'd have thought they both have the same software & therefore the same operation? |

The review was written before v7 software was available on all the older devices (I have a 2nd Ed with 7.131 Navcore which seems to have all the functionality intact)
Are we saying that a 3rd Ed with the latest software operates differently i.e. missing itinerary & manage POI menu items? |

It is only the menu that is messed up, as I put in the write up these missing functions can be re-enabled on the device at the cost of loosing the MapShare and HelpMe fuctions, the ironic part is that it is TomTom who are missing out on updates to their map data with people using the One Third edition in this modified way, the whole sorry state should have been avoided in the first place by selling the unit with a true full function menu. - Mike |
