I finally sorted the problem...

Unfortunately mine remains borked. I use XP & IE6, and have tried all the usual stuff about flushing cookies & cache files, disabling firewalls etc.

Interesting to hear it's not just me -

Still can't get Camera Manager to connect, Ash.

Gives me one of two error messages, apparently randomly - either it can't find the database link, or I'm not logged in to PGPSW. It'll do this even if I have IE6 open and logged in to PGPSW at the same time as trying a manual check.

In addition, I'm now not even sure which version I'm using. Have tried older version and dl'd the newest, but none of them seem to work. Now confused & bemused.

Happy to provide debug logs etc (if you can tell me where they are!)

Fingers crossed -

Steve

Ash - Have downloaded the software and seems to work ok. I wanted to install the voice warnings on my Garmin nuive 760, but found I need to enable "Sort by camera type and speed limit" to use them. This seems to require registration, but I don't have a Paypal account, is there any other way of registration.

So does that mean that donating / registering doesn't give you the sort by camera type and speed limit option anyway. ? How are we supposed to use the voice files now then ?

I have a Garmin 610T, Win XP and usually use Firefox.
Having looked at the experiences of several in installing Camera Manager, with trepidation I had a go.
Initial installation through IE, no problem. Returned to Firefox to find Camera Manager-settings-options, both check boxes 'Check for updates....and 'Remind me when..... are greyed out and don't work.

What's the problem, any advice appreciated.

PS I've made my contribution to Ash10

A couple of things to check out

Have you previously downloaded the pocketgps speed camera database ?

because in the directories tab you have to put the directory that you used.

Have you received an email from Ash yet after donating ?

Thanks for the help Tom. I got the email and started from scratch. It's all working .
The process of loading my nuvi using POI loader is giving me some problems.
Should I download directly to the nuvi or should I download to the SD card I have in the card slot of the GPS ?
I have turned off the Garmin safety camera feature and the downloaded system seems to be working OK from the nuvi smart.
I got a notification that updates are ready for downloading but my POI loader now refuses to work. I suspect finger trouble on my part and would be pleased if you could give me another clue!

I'm in Cowes so have only limited fixed cameras to check my system but there are plenty of mobiles.

You talk of the last update in October ,do you mean pocketgps or Ash's update and no it does work without donating its just that there is more detail available if you donate .

Hi,
Is there any way of using Camera manager to convert a csv file that I have created myself. The reason i ask is that when I upload this file to my Nuvi the distance that it alerts me of the camera locations is way to early and this sofware is great for setting the alert distance.
If it is not possible to do this is there any other software available to do this.
Cheers
Dave
