HELP, Nuvi does not like the North and TMC

Update.
Those lovely people at Garmin returned a brand new boxed GTM10 as I predicted!
Plugged it in and within a few seconds I had full coverage in my driveway unlike with my GTM12 that gets little or sporadic reception around the South East.

Due to reception problems there should be an on screen indication re reception when in use, you have no idea when navigating as to if the unit has lost reception!

Still having on screen position lagging behind road position problems but TMC is fine now.
As far as my experience shows GTM12 is a near waste of space due to the poor reception.
The GTM 10 wired in to two aerials is just in another league.
