I don't think POI Capture is compatible yet for the 520/720. The last post I read on the subject was on 6th August, where it was stated that Tom Tom had withdrawn their SDK support. Without it Lutz is unable to tinker with the program to make it work. _________________ Tommo...

and you can bet why they stopped it so that after time everyone will be forced to use their overcharged camera poi's _________________ TomTom 5001 |

There is no restriction on using your own POI's on any Tom Tom. It's only the POI Capture program which doesn't work with the x20 models. There are other ways of capturing POI's using the built in software, using 'GPS Position' for example.
I've got a 710, so I'm alright jack !! _________________ Tommo...

Not really fella! Just imagine... When you download the latest camera update and realise that you have just shot through a 30 mph camera at 38 mph you may well recall your "I'm alright" comment. The reason you have just been hit with 3 points and a fixed penalty is because the 20 or so 720 owners that know about the camera couldn't be bothered to report it due to POI Capture not working.... Who's alright now??? |

But the 20 or so (I'm sure there's more than that) 720 owners can record a POI using GPS position, so there is no excuse for them failing to notify PGPSW about them. It may not be quite as easy to do, but it can still be done. Anyway, I'm not one of those folk who drive about like a loon, waiting for my Tom Tom to tell me about a camera location. I use my eyes and my speedo.. _________________ Tommo...

It's a good job I have a TomTom because I must need my eyes testing... For a minute there I thought I had read that you drive around with your eyes peeled whilst wearing really tight swimming trunks!!!! |

Not at all it is called the "appliance of science" or in simple terms make do with the devices and technology you have available that remain within the law of the country you are in and enjoy what it can offer, if this creates a strange looking car then so be it.
I am sure Alix/ Teddy Bear were disappointed earlier today as the car looked "normal" for once, the PC and screen will be re-fitted this week, as will the array of aerials, once I get the roof box off - now I wonder what that contains, no one ever thinks to ask??? - Mike |
