Hi there,

Does anyone know if the new tomtom go 520 is compatible with the old external antennae which advertise compatibility with the 510, 710, 910 only? Really need to purchase one...

Many Thanks....

I'm not sure. But why, oh why do you need an external aerial? I find the 720 so fast with satellites it's like chalk and cheese to the previous models. Are you going places where it loses contact? Where? (Whitevanman, I might go there any day).

You should not need an external antenna.

My 720 is mounted below windscreen level, and have one of those heat reflective windscreens that normally blocks signals, yet I have seen upto 11 satellites on my daily journeys.

The 720 is fitted on a Brodit mount on centre console.

Hi there,

Thankyou all for your replies. I recently ordered the gps unit so haven't been able to see how effective it is however my past experience with my old garmin was horrendous under my heat- refelctive windscreen. I would lose reception every 15 minutes....
