does the nuvi 250 still say 'recalculating' when a wrong turn is taken, if so can the voice be switched off..

If you look in the sticky threads at the top of the forum there is software that allows the option to replace the recalculating file with one containing silence.

Voice utility software is what you're looking for I believe.
