I managed to get the TomTom versions of the DKV POI files (as supplied by DKV itself).
DKV is a european network of fuel stations that accept the international DKV fuel payment card.

Beware:
- My experience is that most of the time the stations location (especially in remote areas often more than 50 metres away from the poi location. Sometimes the location is completely wrong.
- Often (at least in Sweden) you are directed to a unmanned fuel stop where you can only get diesel
- Sometimes these unmanned diesel fuels stops only have a big (lorry) nozzle.

I'm now looking for a way to upload these files here.

50 metres is not bad for a Fuel Station.

That's not unusual for information supplied by manufacturers, or retailers.

Try an email, with it attached, to pois(at)pocketgpsworld.com

Thank you for emailing the files. I have had a quick look at some of them and I will be processing the files that contain POI for a single country first, eg Germany, France.

I assume that you would like the POI for a particular country in a single file rather than being split into separate files by brand. The brand name, eg Esso, Shell, will be shown in the POI file name.

The POI files will be in a subcategory named "DKV Card Service Station" under Fuel.

In the Germany file there are some obvious errors that I will try to correct but if I cannot correct them then I will remove them. So the number of POI in the database files may not match those that you submitted.

Richard

Thanks Richard.
I used the Germany and the Scandinavia files in my holiday.
Germany was accurate (traveled from The netherlands via Osnabruck / Harmburg to Denmark)
Scandinavia had obvious errors (apart from the 50 metres mismatches): Some stations simply did not exist (2 ocasions) maybe because of an errorneous co-ordinate.

I would like to emphasize that in some countries (ie Sweden) these POI files might direct you to unmanned diesel only fuel stops. Next to the advantages of those stops (good acces from the route and almost no queueing!) they sometimes only have a big lorry nozzle that does not fit a car.

The origin of the files is the DKV organisation itself (published on their client-only website).

Have you deleted those points from the file?

I cannot think of a suitable way to warn car users Sad

Have you checked that DKV agree to us using their data? If they agree then I will upload the POI in a subcategory named "DKV Card Service Station" under Fuel and the appropriate Country.

Before uploading the data I always check for duplicates (checked to 5 metres) and there are some 115 in the file for Germany (not bad as there are over 9000 entries in the file). When the POI names are different I will leave the duplicates in the file in the hope that we will get some corrections from users.

Richard

I have not specifically asked for permission to distribute these files.
There is no disclaimer or copyright notice on the page containing the files.
I can drop them a mail and ask for distribution via pocketgpsworld.com.

Good to check duplicates.

I did not delete the wrong stations, just did not think about it at the time.
