I am looking for a mount solution which would allow me to easily move my pda from one car to the other without duplicating all of the mount hardware.
I do not want to use a windscreen mount. my preference would be a clip
attached to the airvent. This would be then installed permanently in each car. Unfortunately most of the Brodit, Arkon, etc. mounts seem to be screwed permanently in place. Has anyone a solution? I would prefer an active mount.

Regards
Keith

Try seidio,

Buy one of their GS2500 kits and a spare vent mount kit for the 2nd car - you can slide the cradle out and move it between cars very easily.

Saw just the answer on the Brodit stand at CeBIT! It's a two part clip that allows rapid removal of the mount. You install two ProClips, one in each car and the affix the male part on each in-car ProClip. The Brodit PDA Cradle has the female part of the clip on it's rear and allows rapid removel and instalation in each car.

The removeable clip comes with two male and one female section. Mike has a review sample and a phot would explain far better how it works than I! Aside from the cost of the Brodit mount which is still by far the best there is, this is a great idea and allows you to stwo your mounts from prying eyes whenever you need to.

Thanks for the tips.
Unfortunately it seems that the Seidio G2500 is not yet available for the Ipaq 5450. Looking at the description it would appear to fit the bill. especially with the loudspeaker. I have read some very positive remarks in a couple of german forums (after the initial bugs were ironed out).

On the Brodit site I cannot find what you are referring to.

Regards

Keith

The two-part clip I referred to is brand new, launched at CeBIT so unlikely to be on their website yet.
