Laughing

Don't worry - after 20 years here I've grown used to it.

I've built a merged database now, btw, but wife's birthday will prevent me from getting near the ftp client until tomorrow night now. Expect a release then.

Hi All,

There is now a new database, properly merged from the old one, on my web site. This database contains all the old postcodes, plus about 600,000 new ones. But note that the new ones are not as accurate as the original ones, as they've been generated using OS grid refs with an accuracy of only 100m.

Enjoy.

Well done Niels,

My post code is now in the right street. Thanks for an excellent piece of software.

Now that we've all had the benefit of Niels's effort, unstinting support and cheerful tolerance, let's all show our gratitude by helping him pay for the TT2 SDK. We can make a donation using Paypal on his website.

Come on guys, if we can afford GPS ... Cheers!

Andrew,

You've probably followed the new and updated (and wrong Embarassed ) instructions on my site...

When I say \windows\programs I do of course mean \windows\start menu\programs. duh.

Try moving your shortcut to the \windows\start menu\programs folder instead and it should show up in all the expected places. I'm off to correct the text on my site now...

Looks like you have written an excellent application there Niels. I am currently thinking of buying an HP 2210 with Tom Tom Nav 3. Will this work with 3 or will you have to do more work on it?

Rgds,

Mike

sland,

I am hoping that TT will have kept the interface component the same (or that I can get a cheap upgrade) - but I won't know for sure until someone buys TTN3 and tries it out, I'm afraid.

epx,

My pleasure!

Absolutely brilliant Neils.

Perhaps you could make us all even happier and, between cups of coffee, find a way of incorporating waypoints in the program. Happy

Having loaded Niels excellent postcode Thumbs Up (shame on you Tom Tom) GPS Assist now fails to work. I receive an application error: -

"The control TTN ({COA5B605-0195-420E-9798-9129C677BFC2}) could not be created."

I've tried reinstalling GPSAssist (taking a "no to all" file updates as they all appear older than Niels software) but the same error recurrs.

Any ideas how to overcome? Question

I'm running an iPAQ 3970 with PPC2002.

Thanks & regards

Bad news. Got my kit today (HP 2210 with TTN3 Bluetooth). Flashed PDA to latest BIOS, updated BT driver, installed TTN3, but cannot install your postcode program Sad

I updated TTN3 to latest version (patch to 3.01 avail on TomTom website) but still no joy. Running setup brings up the add/remove dialogue but then says no disk in D:

I put the TTN disk in drive D: and tried again, no joy. Installed CheckPOInt (tried both 302 and 202 versions) thinking that might help but guess what, still no install. Having CheckPOInt 202 installed was the closest I came to a succesful install but the ocx never registered and the software doesn't appear in the add/remove window.

Damn.

I'll keep trying different things in case it is something I have done. There is a paragraph on TTs website saying that v2 plugins should work with TTN3 so it could be my incompetence stopping it from working.

I'll let you all know how it goes :D
