Hey guys,

I recently purchased a bluetooth GPS unit that has worked out very well for me, except for one thing: When i close the GPS application and manually turn off bluetooth, the bluetooth search screen keeps on popping back up! No matter how many times i close it, it's still popping back up. ANyone know what's wrong?

If it makes any difference, the gps device and software is made by belkin (well it's really a rebagded fortuna bluetooth and deluo routis software).

Which application are you closing, and how are you closing it. If you are just using the X at the top right, you are not closing it, it's going into background memory and it will keep trying to establish a connection with a BT device if you've switched it off. The proper way is to use a menu/task system like WisBar which will properly close the application.

Yeah, that was the reason it kept doing that, i always thought 'x'ing' would close my app Smile

THanks dave Smile

It's a common problem on the Pocket PC. I can see why Microsoft do it, but it's really frustrating. Luckily there's apps out there like WisBar that help alleviate the problem.

If one goes to Settings - System - Memory - Running Programs - and then select the relevant programme and push "stop" does this do the trick as well?

Yes it will, but with WisBar basically you get a similar cross on the start bar and when you tap this it will actually exit. Don't worry, WisBar's free!
