Hi,

This is a bit of a long post I know, so please bear with me.

I have a Mio 268+ with V2 software, I have added a 2GB SD Card so that I could add the European cards, plus I use the POI Warner to get the speed camera updates. All has been working fine for over a year now, but occassionally the Mio did freeze, requiring a hard reset.

Recently I was browsing the Mio site, and found a patch for V2, which is supposed to fix problems with the Mio occassionally freezing. I followed the instructions and it successfully loaded. The next day I used it on a trip to Gloucester and everything seemed fine....except that I noticed TMC didn't seem to pick up any problems. I looke dinto this and found that it kept constantly scanning the channels, but never locking onto Classic FM. In the past, this has not been a problem, as reception in that area is fine.

On getting back home, I did a hard reset on the Mio, I then found it had retrograded back to R10 of the firmware. I can't remember exactly what version I had before, but it must have been at least R16, as this seems to be the minimum required. I downloaded R16 from Mio's site, and then followed the install procedure. This went well, although I notice now that when I hard reset it, I get a different splash screen than before.

I then tried to get it to boot up into the main navigation screen, but it kept saying it couldn't read the SD card. After much playing around, using different cards and versions of software, I managed to get it to load.

However, I now have 3 major problems.

1. It only reads the Brisitsh Isles map off the SD card, but it cannot read the European map, despite having formatted the SD card.
2. I cannot install POI Warner, it keeps telling me that there is a problem sync'ing with the Mio.
3. TMC no longer works, it will not lock on to any station, it keeps constantly scanning.

Has anyone else had simialr problems, do you have the same Firmware version? Can anyone help me before I throw it out of the window Crying or Very sad
