I downloaded the camera database for the first time, and everything works OK (TomTom 6 on and HTC3300), however I decided to modify some of the icons to make them more visible on the map by putting a red border round the ones that already didn't have a red border. I then replaced the existing icons with the modified ones on my pocket PC. The next time I went out I noticed that on the map the existing icons were visible not the new ones but when an alert came on the new icon was shown on the map but the existing icon was shown in the top left hand corner. Why should this be given that I have deleted the existing icon and replaced it with the modified one. Are the icons stored in 2 seperate places. Any ideas.

Secondly does anyone know if ther are a set of "silent" voice files available so that you could select these, meaning that if you set a route and had the poi's set to only warn if on the route you could still hear the speed camera alerts without the voice commands and the number of spurious alerts would be reduced as only the ones on the route would be activated.

If you e-mail the revised icons to me I will take a look at them later, this could be a colour depth issue with your created icons as I have seen this sort of thing before, I don't understand why you get two different icons displayed though.
For a silent voice take a look at Rays excellent site www.tomtomsatnav.info where there is a silent voice in the voice skins section -Mike

I'm wondering whether the "new" icons are actually being used. Whenever you get as proximity alert on any POI, the border of the icon on the map flashes red anyway.

As this is the only place where you believe you have seen the "new" icon, I wonder whether you were mistaken and have just seen the "old" icon which happened to be flashing red?

Thanks for your replies, Mike I have emailed you a copy of 2 of the icons for you to check, Daggers, they must be the ones downloaded from this site as they show the mobile sites icon which is not in the standard TomTom set up as far as I am aware.
