At least there is a solution from brodit for the one/XL.
I have a 910 and have no alternative than DIY and that really sucks. They brag about shipping 10.000.000 units and they can't even get a working alternative for mounting.
I have sent several questions to tomtom, the first one 2003 and I haven't got a response from them yet! |

I can only speak as I find & TomTom have provided me with superb support. I bought a TomTom One v2 (GB) in early April with 660.1219 maps. When new maps came out mid April I contacted TomTom and got a free upgrade. No bother. They were a pleasure to deal with.
Now if you want bad service try calling the BT Broadband Help Desk in Delhi / Jahore! The guys there re-define the meaning of "bad service"!
Cheers, JW ;) |

tomtom is a good product with a few problems just like many others out there. but there after sales service needs new to be looked into. | Maybe they couldn't understand your spelling, punctuation or grammar? They are Dutch after all, and you're not making it easy for them :D |

Johnnyh, Do you actually have a TomTom One XL to comment on the mount or are you making the assumption that it is due to your previous findings with other devices that use a different mounting system?
Continually populating the forum with a "hate" campaign is not something that helps anyone, OK so you have had a bad/ poor experience, but I can find very little specific details as to what the actual issues are from your posts.
Now you have a Garmin and want to put alternate voices on it, well it might be possible with a lot of extra work to create one, these are simply not available for download, is that device going to be consigned to the bin because of this "fault"
Yes the Go-x10 products suffered from an issue with the mounts (mine didn't and I still use the original one which is 13 months old and works fine) - Each to their own but I guess it is time you detailed the problems you encountered with the product to feel so emotional as to post over one third of your total posts have contained derogatory comments spread across various forums - just an observation of course - Mike |
