Interop Haicom 204E and FS Loox610BT/WLAN

I am planning to buy a Haicom 204E and a FS Loox610BT/WLAN
Is this a good combination?

I would like to use Alturion or TomTom software.

(The Haicom 204S seems not available from my dealer)

Supports the Y-cable (car charger combination) on the Haicom website
the new siemens PDA's ?
.(On a website they mentioned that this cable is build for the Loox SX45)


Is it true that the GPS receiver pulls power from the carbattery
so that PDA with GPS-receiver will not work without external 12 V source ?


Is it true that with the proper cable from Hicom this GPS-receiver works with a notebook via USB or serial ?

Yup, the cable you get with your GPS mouse powers both the GPS and your PDA via a power socket (cigarette lighter) in your car. I think the voltage drain is pretty minimal though.

NOTE: it says on the web page 204e, after a quick e-mail it turned out they hadn't updated their web page - you actually get the 204s
