I have a navman f20 with uk maps etc, and I'd like to update it with the pgpsw camera database and maybe some other poi's.
This will be as easy as tomtom I thought. Wrong!
Using the connectivity kit I expected to see all internal files, maps etc, as per ActiveSync, but nothing is visible.
Ok , copy the map and edit the copy, but the map is encrypted and only the original map will work in the device.
So I have a connectivity kit that allows me to do very little, and still no idea of how to add the cameras.
If anyone has any info to help me, I'd be very grateful.

Use the Navman instructions under Speed Cameras Help (on the left in red). You do need to put *.* in the File name box to get it to display .asc files, though. Then, even if you put ticks in the Visual and Audio Alert boxes, you still need to activate them on the device itself.

all sorted now.

Thanks to tim and special thanks to keith for sending me the step by step instructions how to do it.
If I ever find where the wav files are stored inside , I'll post so the rest of you can replace them with something better.

No reply to my PM to MaFt, so posting in case you didn't receive it.

Note: detailed instructions originated from RODDERSTROTTER who sent them to pgpsw for inclusion in the help files in January this year. As far as I can tell they haven't been adopted. If another member hadn't passed them on, I would still be non the wiser because the the instructions in the link from MaFt are not specifically for the F20.

The details are subtlely different for the F20, and for a newbie like me that makes all the difference.

My F20 has just been repaired, the dreaded "unable to detect internal memory" fault, so precise and model applicable info helps overcome the fear of taking a chance, and sending it back into expensive plastic brick mode.
Having scanned other posts, I see over the last few months, RODDERSTROTTER has helped several other members asking the same question as I posed.

Surely the help files could be adapted to show which models they apply to , and then be added to when new models appear.

I'm installing all the Speed Cameras onto my F20 and as I use the Speed Zone and Camera Type theres lots of separate files to do one by one.

Is there a quicker way to put them on the F20? I'm hoping to update the Database if it changes again in a few weeks for a long trip. Do I have to go through the same process?

I know with my TomTom its just a drag and drop.

Thanks

There is no "bulk loader" for the Navman devices so it is a labour of love installing each file one at a time - well that’s how it is until some bright spark (or Navman) release amended software capable of this - Mike
