can someone check on the maps for this street please.

It's a real road, yet on my map on TT Navigator6 the bottom portion of it is shown as white with pink lines on (no a navigable road) and on my wifes ONE Europe V2 it's all white with pink.

Do new versions have it as a proper road?

The latest Navteq map (v675) shows it as a private road but still plots a route into it.

the v675 TeleAtlas map shows only the very first easterly part of Stanley Road from Stanifield Lane to the junction with Stanley Avenue as private and will not use it.The same applies to the other entrance at Knowsley Avenue. Consequently a route to the far end of Stanley Road has your route coming in along Bristol Avenue in a corkscrew!

Exactly!!! this corkscrew effect is what my TT Nav6 does!! I got round it by adding my mum and dads house (on stanley road) favorite as being at the bottom of the road on the junction with stanifield lanes.

The TT ONE has it all private as you said.

I wonder what makes them map it as private though, it certainly isn't a private road.

Just though now, these roads are "access only" as shown at the bottom of each road. Has tom tom been told not to nav through access only roads, to avoid the creation of rat runs??

I wonder?
Idea Question

I very much doubt it. Interesting that both have parts of it recorded as access only, is it or any part of it unadopted?

Not at all no, it's fully adopted. The road has been there since 1925, and has been regularly maintained by the council ever since, at no expense to the owners.

Very odd indeed.

Actually, the loop it takes you round bristol avenue, is newer housing than stanley road, built in the 60's

It's strange that both have parts of that area recorded as private. I wonder if this is an error that originated from OS?
