I've tried to use the POI for the extended london conjection charge zone as posted. But it doesn't appear when installed in my map. Tomtom nav5 for palm.
Any advice? |

How many custom POIs do you have?
You say it doesn't appear when installed. Does this mean you have selected warn when near, set a distance and sound, then driven around or used the route demo? Or just enables the POI?

I don't have too many Custom POIs at the moment, I've had a few over the years. I removed the old Congestion charge POI I got from here a couple of years ago and installed the new POI. Its in the map file correctly but the software won't see it. Anything with a O2V and a bmp is usually seen.
Also is the toll warning stored in the map rather than in the POI? |

Is that a typo? The file should be OV2. That would be a very easily corrected cause of your problem!

Yes, the toll warning (mainly for bridges etc. but also used for the original area of the London congestion zone) is not done by the POI system but is part of the map data. As such any route passing through the zone will throw up the warning at the time of planning and give you the oportunity to re-route around the whole zone.
On the other hand, anything based on POIs will only alert you as you aproach an entrance to the zone, and any attempt to re-route around that alert is likely to just send you into the zone via the next entrance.
This is why TomTom and TeleAtlas need to get this data updated FAST, and in my opinion this should be an exception to their normal rule and be given as a free update for those who bought the new v6 maps which should have had it on already (they had plenty of warning). |

So if I treated myself to a shiney new GO710 I'd still not have the Congestion charge in the map correctly?
The map update lag by Teleatlas has been a historic problem. With the popularity of the Tomtom it should have been sorted by now. |

Sorry - for Teleatlas read Tom Tom. Teleatlas issue updates every couple of months. It's down to Tom Tom how often and long it takes to pass them on to us.
