What software are you using for the screen rotation? Have you experienced any issues with it when using GPS?

Hi Darren,

He hasn't rotated the screen he just has a My navigator title written vertically on the side of his screen - al the other icons etc are orientated normally.

No it's not yjust you Samriley.

I had a look at the photos again and you're right - plus I've just visited the seidio web site and it clearly shows the power in socket as being the lower of the two.

That is very odd indeed! Nice catch. Strange thing is - it was still charging the unit (hence the green light). So it's probably just a straight pass-through? I must remember to look at that tonight.

Darren: I wanted to show a rotated pic (as the unit comes with a 360 degree adapter). If you were vent mounting this unit, then it could also double as a video monitor of sorts (for the passenger, of course). *grin*

But landscape mode will soon be upon us, and at that point, it might be handy (in some situations) to use the rotated view.

according to the manaul, the dc out is meant to just be a 5v out, whereas the powerin is a 12v in. does seem odd that it seemed to work in the dc out port.

Hello folks

Been onto Seido re the shipping date for the Seidio G2500 GPS Ready Car Mount for iPAQ 5400/5500 which is listed as 27/02/04 (yesterday)

This was the reply

"Sorry for the delay. Those shipping days are estimated only. We are doing our best to keep that dates however some times, we missed it. Ipaq 5500 is difficult due to our design is having a built-in audio jack in the holder. It takes more time to do the tooling and design. We have completed the design and in the process of production. It will be available around 10/03/04.

Sorry for the delay and thank you very much for your interests in our products.

Seidio"

I was told by Semsons that Seidio shipped the dark grey units with missing parts, Seidio seems to have a very, very poor quality assurance department and I will refrain from purchasing their products from now on. I should have gone with the mounts from Brodit Confused

I got my g2500 mount last Monday - not quite sure it's worth the 50quid cost (inc shipping) but it does work rather well.

re the power in/out I put the power lead in the out socket on Thursday morning ang the bloody mount continued to charge my 2210 for 10/15 minutes and the green light was lit. Then the speaker quality took a nose dive and the unit stopped charging. I thought the unit was about to be returned when I relaised that I had plugged the cable into the wrong socket and all worked well again.

I couldn't mount it on the air vent so its on the windscreen but the combination of the mount and a bt gps unit makes for a very neat installation.

Overall I'my happy (and would buy another if I changed my pda) but I really don't think its worth much over 25-30 quid delivered.

I agree. £30 inc. is a more realistic price for this kit but hey we coughed up £50!
