Now that's a good price but I would ascertain that the package also includes the CDs with street level european mapping as it does not mention that. Also it says only 4 available  Still you can always return it if it does not

4 available from amazon marketplace. Amazon themselves will have loads more in stock.
I'm not sure about the european maps, but if it's UK only it's still a massive bargain considering it's only £10 more than the F20. |

Agreed  This is a terrific bargain and with the cash saved you could always add the T1 at ca £53 from the same place.

I emailed Amazon yesterday and they have stated that the N20 includes full european maps.
Have ordered one from Amazon Uk( not marketplace).When ordering Amazon USA pops up so maybe thats where they are sourcing them from.
So its a case of take a chance and see what arrives.
I will have a think now to decide if the TMC module is worth getting.
As point of interest the Navman 520 is on sale at £179.

I bought the Mio 710 and it is not a bad bit of kit (if you do not mind the dour male voice). I like the speed warnings (in addition to the speed cameras) although the limit for a few road is not correct.
TMC works as well as most (the 710 has the built in TMC - I think the main problems are with the others which have an external TMC) but the radio aerial splitter from Evesham Tech is a real bonus in this respect (needs a couple of adaptors to plug straight into the 710 in place of the aerial - but change in reception is worth the effort).
£29 for the splitter is a bargain if only to avoid trying to look cool with the aerial stickers and wire draped around your windscreen. |

N20,user manual,in-car charger power cable,mount,USB cable for PC and a pack of 4CD's european maps.

That was quick! Now you need to get a good SD card for the european maps. You should find the SmartST2006 desktop software on disc one. Good luck

Hello,
I'm wondering if you people could shed some light on the subject. I'm trying to get my friend a GPS unit for his occasional uses and the choice is really between the keenly priced F20 (£126) and more 'main stream' TomTom One (£167).
In short, I need to know if the F20 will work with the speed camera database files on this site the same way my humble iCN 520 would without purchasing the optional T1 module? If it needs it, would you advise him to get TT1 instead? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the clarification. So to reiterate, he will need to purchase the optional connectivity pack (how much?) for the F20 to use the site's databse and nothing if he prefers the TomTom One route. Which unit would you advise in this case as my friend isn't too fuzzy about it?

What version of Smart Desktop is on the F20? The connectivity pack only contains a USB cable and maps on 4 discs?
If this is the case, can I not use the USB cable on my 520 to upload the speed camera files onto the F20 unit using the POI editor on my existing Smart Desktop 2005 software?

I've no idea about using SmartST2005, but I doubt it. I think the Connectivity Kit is about £20 but you can check on the Navman Store website.
It's far easier to put the camera DB onto TomToms than Navmans and the TomTom can do Traffic Updates via GPRS for a subscription, whereas the NAvman needs another module (which is subscription-free). Other than that, they are pretty even, I think.
