Can anyone tell me what the Camera alert sounds are like on the mio 510e.

Also does anyone know of a reliable review of this product.

Thanks

The standard sounds consist of beeps, the closer you get the faster the beeps sound. If your speed is too high the beeps will be much louder.

There are a lot of reviews on the net. Just google.
If you would like to have more general or even specific info on Mio C510 / C710 just look at

http://mio.digiwalker.googlepages.com/.

Loads of info.

Thanks Morkin

I have read a lot of these and they do conflict a lot, but your info is of great use.

Can you also tell me if there is a pre planning option as in TT versions.

Thanks

Graham

morkin,

i think he means can you plan your route in advance with certain waypoints on the computer and then transfer this over. or does it all need to be done on the mio itself.

'brosch' (sorry, not sure on spelling but it's one of the few dutch words i know thats not insulting or rude...)

The simple answer to your question is YES, you can pre plan as you could on a TomTom. Basically there is an option in the routing menu called EDIT. If you want to add a waypoint you press the "+" and if you want to remove a waypoint your press the "x".

Thanks Dave

That is just what I want to know.

Am Iright in presuming, that you can also locate hotels as POI's at your pre planned destination ? as per TT

Yes Graham you can but a word of warning. The Mio is not as good as the TomTom with POIs as groups. Where as with the TomTom the computer sees it as a harddrive via usb, this is not the case with the MIO.
There are forums on this sight with help you in hacking your MIO to accept USB in order to import POIs from sites like this one and poihandler.
In my view this is the only weakness of the MIO.

Thanks again Dave

I have tried a Garmin 310D and returned it as the routing was pretty useless sending me on occasions 3 miles to do 1 !.

I presently have a Nokia 6230 and an Ipaq 4700. The phone wins hands down, both with TT 5.2. Ipaq screen closes at vital moments and needs re booting.

The phone is rather small but has been the dogs for 2 years now.

As I shall be travelling in Europe ,I need seamless mapping so I thought the Mio would fit the bill, but after your comments on POIs I will have to see one first.

Haven't used my Mio for a while so can someone remind me how to

1) Clear my Contacts

2) Change my Home Address. Whenever I click Favourites/Home to amend it just takes me to that position on the Map.

It's OK now. I've found out how to do above.
